The next fair is at Founders and Co on Wind Street this Saturday, 10th August and future fairs are listed below:

I bought Southern Freeez by Freeez at the last one. Freeez being a jazz funk band which started in North London in the late 70’s. This track was released in 1987, and sounds great!
Just for you to know, on Saturday, Founders serve coffee from 9:00, and food and drinks from 12.
Situated on the sea front in Swansea Marina, this stunning building was designed by Robin Cambell in 1989 and was used by the Swansea Astronomical Society until 2009.
The top of the tower has a stained glass feature designed by David Pearl, and the observatory included a telescope which was the second largest of its kind in the world.

It’s been tastefully and lovingly transformed into a cafe, restaurant, bar, function room, and accomodation. This space has it going on – wow!
I had a cup of tea and some amazing Nonna’s doughnuts to take out – they have a stall in the market.
Here’s the breakfast/brunch menu:

With a balcony hugging the ground floor above the Swansea sands it really is an amazing place to be…..

Pizzas are served from 12pm and they also have a cocktail menu.
The Swansea Astronomical Society was established on 13th February 1948, and is the oldest astronomical society in Wales. The Society meet up every second and fourth Thursday of the month and meetings are held at the UWTSD Campus, IQ Building in SA1.

See their Society Talks page for details of forthcoming events.
Victoria Park is “a compact, beautiful urban park situated between the city centre and Mumbles” It dates back to 1887, making it one of the oldest parks in the city. It is a regular winner of the prestigious Green Flag Award, where it is recognised for it’s well managed park and green space.
I visited a local produce and craft sale on Sunday and it was fab. I bought tasty halloumi tacos from The Mex.Co , and look forward to trying the steak tacos next time. I also bought a patty from The Patty Man, a greek cheese pie from Sofia’s Pastries and Desserts and a pair of lovely earings from First Flower Jewellery.
It was busy at 1030 ish and Basketball Wales were hosting a competition in the park as well.

Followed by a stroll on the beach, I thorougly enjoyed the 1st Sunday morning of August 24.
When I know when the next one is on I’ll post it here.
The Swansea Positive is a volunteer run not for profit community interest group whose aim is to inspire the power of positive stories.

I picked up the 1st printed edition of The Swansea Positive from Crumbs in the Uplands a few weeks ago which featured articles on Motley Pies, Matthews House and a lot more. We are being asked if we would like to join them and help share their positivity around Swansea:

Communities are everything, they give us opportunites to learn and grow, and can generate real change. By working together and sharing positive stories we can improve our communities. If you would like to contribute to The Swansea Positive and help foster unity and wellbeing then get in touch with them.
Here’s the details for the next Northern Soul event in Swansea:

Keep on pushing up and pushing through just like this flowering plant on Swansea Bay:

Following on from my last post about the Castles in the Sky event, I saw 3 castles today. I won’t spoil it for you, I’ll just put a photo of one of them here. It’s on the promenade near to Secrets, a beach bar and kitchen.

This one is called ‘Shine a Light and Guide me Home’, by Rachel Hall – how lovely. You can just about see Mumbles Lighthouse in the distance.
All the castles will be available to buy at auction
This event is brought to us by Wales Air Ambulance, a charity who deliver lifesaving, advanced medical care across Wales.

They rely entirely on our donation, are on standby 24 hours a day and need to raise 11.2 million pounds every year. Click HERE to donate.
There are 30 castle sculptures in place across our city and we are invited to follow the trail and discover them. They are designed by local artists and sponsored by local businesses. The trail map and app will help us navigate our way to discovering each sculpture which can be found in streets, parks and public places and we can unlock a series of rewards and fun facts. Here is the map:

This free event for everyone is taking place until September….looking forward to it! Find out more here: Castles in the Sky Art Trail Swansea | Wales Air Ambulance (swanseacastles.co.uk)
